Volksbank Bielefeld-Gütersloh eG is a regional cooperative bank based in the East Westphalian district town of Gütersloh. The bank emerged in 2014 from the merger of Volksbank Gütersloh with the smaller Bielefelder Volksbank.

Volksbanks belong to the group of cooperative banks and have their origins in the 19th century. Existence crises in small businesses, such as craftsmen and in agriculture have led to the basic idea / motto "What one cannot do, many can do."

Every Volksbank is economically and legally independent, but above all it is based in its region and is well known. As a result, customers often stay with the respective Volksbank for generations. The cooperative association also includes building societies, fund companies and many more, from which one enjoys many advantages as a member.

If you want to become a customer of a Volksbank, you join a cooperative, subscribe to bank shares / cooperative shares and thus become a bank partner. Thanks to the principle of the cooperative, the customers are bank shareholders and benefit from the success of their bank through the annual dividend. The amount of the dividend is decided jointly at a meeting of representatives.
The focus of the Volksbanks is on customer proximity, advice and the commitment to their customers/members.
